Is herbal medicine safe?

Yes, when you know what you’re doing. Herbs (plant/botanical medicines) are also drugs, and they have a profound affect on the human body. Are all the herbs vegetable in origin?

Leaves, flowers, twigs, stems, roots, tubers, rhizomes, and barks are some of the many vegetable parts that are used in medicines and these are vegetable in origin.

Do herbal medicine have side effects?

No, not if the formula has been correctly chosen and used. Herbal medicines have a very low toxicity compared to even common non-herbal medicine. When they are prescribed according to a correct diagnosis, they should have virtually no side effects, only beneficial healing  results. If a patient experiences any discomfort while taking our herbal medicine, they should tell us, we will then modify the formula until there are no side effects.

Can pregnant women take herbal medicine?

Yes, if prescribed by us after the checkup. Herbal medicine has been used for  over 2,000 years to treat more than two score of diseases and symptoms occurring during pregnancy without harm to the fetus. Likewise, lactating mothers can take herbal medicine safely as long as they are prescribed by us.

Can children take herbal medicine?

Yes. Pediatrics can be given reduced dosages. There are also special prepared pediatric medicines in pill and powder form. Herbal medicine can treat colic, the fussiness of teething, earache, diarrhea, cough,  and fever in babies and children.

How long does it take to see results with herbal medicine?

In acute  conditions, results can be expected in a matter of minutes, In chronic conditions, some results should be seen within two weeks. Although chronic conditions may require taking herbal medicine for a long time, nonetheless, signs that the medicine is working should be apparent to patient and practitioner alike almost from the very start.

What is the research supporting herbal medicine? Is it really effective?

How is herbal medicine different from modern-day pharmaceuticals?

When using herbs as medicine, you are employing the entire plant (root, flower, leaf, rhizome, etc) which consists of hundreds or thousands medicinal constituents to address specific issues. This differs from pharmaceuticals which are manufactured to address one specific goal (which they often do very effectively). Pharmaceuticals, standardized as they are, do not take into account the synergy of multiple body systems, often leading to unnecessary and potent side effects.

Can I take herbal formulas in place of my medications?

Not unless you are under the clinical supervision of a qualified Herbalist. It can be very dangerous to abruptly discontinue or replace any current medicine. So tell your history in detail and get the proper advice.
